As the trimester comes to an end and we wrap up our “All About My Body” theme, we were excited to welcome one of our very own parents, and medical professional, to visit our class and read a story about what happens during a doctor’s appointment. They shared Baby Medical School: My Doctor’s Visit, a child friendly book that walks students through a typical check up and helps them understand how doctors use simple tools to keep our bodies healthy.
The book was a wonderful way to tie in everything we have been learning about how our bodies work. At the end of the visit, students received their very own stethoscopes and had a chance to practice listening to their heartbeats.
