Friday, Oct. 27th in Early Learners

The Early Learners are becoming very familiar with vowels.  They are able to identify the terms long and short sound, they can identify the sounds and now they are recognizing the letters in short words. This week we focused on the letter Oo.   We came up with many words that begin with Oo but the words we used most  October, orange and octopus.

We sang the orange song every day, along with An Orange Octopus!

An Orange Octopus Song

Early Learners were given an orange letter O and 8 strips of paper.  They cut the O out themselves and then folded each orange strip back and forth to create wiggly legs.  It’s fun to incorporate projects that help them develop cutting skills and other fine motor skills, all while learning basic phonetic concepts.

This week was filled with fall/pumpkin fun!  Our students have mastered the Life Cycle of the Pumpkin, measured their pumpkins and then just for fun, painted them!

Have a wonderful weekend!  ~Mrs. Michaliszyn
