Tuesday March 5th in Early Learners

We’ve had a great start to our very exciting and busy week!  Spirit week and then Culture Day this Friday has set our school and classroom into a flurry of activity and fun!  Our students are so excited to dress up, and get into the school spirit!

Our Early Learners students are also feeling such a sense of confidence and pride from their successful Student-led Conferences!  They are all ready for what’s next to come and eager to learn more and more!  Thank you, parents for your constant support!  It is so evident in the lives of our youngest learners!

This week we are focusing on the letter Pp and all things that begin with P.  From pizza to pop-corn, pigs and penguins, planets and people.   We’ll try to cover it all and learn a little about each thing along the way!  Today we learned about Pigs!  There are many fascinating facts regarding this familiar farm animal!   For one, they live all over the world (except Antartica).  They love to eat grass, fruits, berries and an occasional rodent or lizard.  They love to lay in the mud when they’re hot because the mud keeps them cool.  And did you know, pigs are very smart!  They can learn to follow directions and they can find their way back to their home if they get lost!

Our Early Learners loved learning these facts about the pig and then enjoyed making pigs out of shapes!  Ask your student if they can remember a fact about pigs from our lesson today!  When our work was complete, we read a funny story titled, ‘Pigs A Plenty, Pigs Galore!’
