Star of the Week: Ben!

Ben is our Star of the Week this week.   His poster is decorated with drawings of many colors and many stickers!  He wants to be a police officer when he grows up, and he shared that he is also very good at P.E.  Ben brought in several things to share from home, including a few sports pictures, cruise pictures, a ribbon, a sand dollar, and an interesting helicopter launch toy!  Great job Ben!!  I will let you know when it is time for your child to be our Star of the Week.

Official construction of our urban community, “KinderCity” began this weekend.  I am so excited to see how everything turns out!  Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have a question or need clarification on something.  We completed the layout of KinderCity on Friday and began painting on the streets.  We even began construction on some homes for our city using cylinders!  This week will include a lot of time working on our urban community project.  You will receive an official invitation later this week from your scholar, but please remember that our Parent Celebration for Trimester 1 will be our city grand opening on Thursday, October 29 from 10am – 11am.  I’m sure that your child would love for you to join us!

We love hanging out in Kindergarten!  Marvin the monkey may be rubbing off on us during playground time… what do you think?

We started a new morning meeting recording form on Monday morning!  Our kindergarten scholars were breezing through our old routine so we stepped up calendar time just a little bit.  New skills we are working on: using a number line to count up/down, counting coins, handwriting, and increasing focus.  Below are also a few pictures from Friday Free-Write.
