Last week in Outdoor Ed., students learned about different surveys researchers and ecologist conduct to gain a better understanding of life in a specific area. Students then had the opportunity to engage in their own survey of the flora, fauna, and fungi found in the Big Backyard. They recorded all species found within their designated area (hola hoop) and labeled each species based on where it was at in its life cycle.
