5th Grade Spanish

Hola Summit 5th Grade families! My name is Señora (Emma) Souza, and this is my second year teaching Spanish at The Summit. Fifth grade Spanish has been a blast so far as we have kicked off the year learning all about las mascotas, our beloved pets! Students are learning how to talk about their furry friends through TPR (total physical response) movements, games, and engaging activities. One favorite so far has been the game Mono Loco (Crazy Monkey!!) in which students ask and answer lots of different questions en español through a fast paced/energizing outdoor game.

Some essential questions we will be asking and answering throughout this unit are: How well do I know my pet? What are the differents kinds of pets? What does my pet look like? How does my pet behave? What does my pet do? What is my pet doing right now?

I am excited to be a part of the 5th grade class at the Summit as they progress and grow this year!
