Research!

The fifth graders have been working so hard on their research on Native American nations!  They have been looking into the history of the nations as well as the modern lives of Native American peoples. They have found information on regional resources, governments, economics, languages, and modern celebrations of heritage and culture.  All the while, we have reviewed how to identify reliable sources, learned about the importance of tracking where information comes from, and collected and organized bibliographical information on internet and print resources.

In the coming week, students will be working on organizing and compiling this information into a presentation complete with a digital slideshow.  We will be reviewing presentation and public speaking skills and practicing, practicing, practicing to prepare for our presentations at the first trimester celebration!
