Week of 10/31-11/4

Hold on tight!  It’s going to be a busy week!

School wide events:

  • Tuesday – late start – 9:30 start time, Open House
  • Wednesday – Open House
  • Thursday – Spanish event – see email from Senora
  • Friday – End of Trimester 1 (can you believe it?!)

Here’s what we’re doing in class:

Writing/Social Studies: Native American nation project – designing and practicing our presentations

Reading: Finishing up Fatty Legs and setting up our next big reading adventure: reading groups

Spelling/Grammar: new spelling lists and rules – spelling journals will be coming home in case you want to see/review what we’re working on

Science: how do we build structures that can stand up to earthquakes?  Using numeric data to make charts and graphs (using GoogleSheets)

Math: more dividing fractions.  Also – with real-life problems, when do we multiply and when do we divide?

Lastly: Save the date – our End of Trimester Celebration will be on Wednesday, November 9 from 2:30 – 3:30pm.  Students will have presentations and loads of other work to show you!  We have accomplished so much this trimester!
