This week, the fifth graders were practicing multiplying decimal numbers. The focus of the last few days has been the different methods we can use to work through multiplication problems as the numbers get bigger, with more digits. On Wednesday, the students took cards with different multiplication equations on them and matched the ones that had the same result when solved. Next week, we will move into division with decimal numbers (and take a short side-track into the land of percent for the 100th day of school).
