Week of 4/15-4/19

Here’s what we’re up to in the 5th grade classroom this week! There will be no school on Friday or next Monday. Enjoy the Home Stretch Holiday this weekend!

Writing: Finishing up essays and ERB’s.

Reading: Students are working on their Literary Newspapers.

Spelling/Grammar: We are playing with Latin and Greek roots this week.

Science: We are learning about the life classification system and will discuss the different kingdoms.

Social Studies: We will begin learning about the 13 British colonies in North America.

Math: Geometry is the theme for the next few weeks.  This week, we will review naming and comparing points, lines, segments, and rays.  We will also learn to measure, name, and classify angles and quadrilaterals.
