Week of 2/12 – 2/16

Short week this week – Wednesday is a late start day and there is no school on Friday.  Here’s what the fifth graders are up to in the classroom:

Writing: Students are writing their “Where I’m From” poems.  Afterwards, they will focus their energies on assembling their poetry anthologies.

Reading: Reading groups continue.

Spelling/Grammar: None this week.  It’s too short!

Science: Students are going to put together their science quiz circuit boards.

Social Studies: While continuing to learn about explorers, students will learn about what it means to be a sovereign state.

Math: We will review for and take a math check this week on working with decimal numbers.  The check will be on Thursday (moved – due to Snow Day).
