Raven’s Art Studio: “Freedom of Speech Through 5th Grade Eyes”

Greetings, wonderful 5th-grade parents!

I’m delighted to share with you the incredible journey your young artists have embarked upon. Over the past few weeks, our 5th graders have been channeling their creativity into a thought-provoking project centered around the theme of Freedom of Speech.

Imagine a classroom buzzing with excitement and intellectual curiosity as these young minds dive into the complexities of this fundamental right. This has been a journey of self-expression, critical thinking, and artistic exploration, culminating in a stunning array of posters that capture the essence of Freedom of Speech.

Through this project, our 5th graders have not only honed their artistic skills but have also delved into the historical and contemporary aspects of Freedom of Speech.  This theme has been added to the art curriculum due to the combined efforts of their classroom teacher, Mrs. Verney and me.

As I have been viewing student work, I must take a moment to appreciate the depth of thought, the passion, and the creativity that went into each piece. The diversity of interpretations and the thoughtful reflections encapsulate the essence of what Freedom of Speech truly means to these young minds.

Thank you for supporting your young artists on this enriching journey. Together, we are nurturing the next generation of critical thinkers and creative minds who understand the importance of Freedom of Speech in our society.

Warm regards,

Jeannine Dalton
