Week of 3/4-3/8

It’s an exciting week as we celebrate Summit School Spirit!  Here’s what the fifth graders will be doing in the classroom this week:

Writing:  Students will be drafting, revising, editing, and publishing their literary essays.  We are practicing our 5 paragraph essay formatting for this piece.

Reading: Students will be reaching the half-way points with their second novel study groups.

Spelling/Grammar: It’s a spelling week this week!

Science: Our mini-unit on graphs continues.  Students will learn about line graphs, bar graphs, and circle graphs this week.

Social Studies: Students will learn about French and Spanish colonial efforts in the Americas.

Math: We will start the week converting metric and customary units of measurement.  We will move on to adding and subtracting fractions towards the end of the week.

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area. Our preparatory school setting offers an enriching early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum in a supportive environment. We have state of the art facilities, highly-qualified teachers and staff, and a large range of educational programming. Interested in enrolling your child? Learn more about our admissions process.
