Week of 3/19 – 3/22

Welcome back from Spring Break!  Here’s what 5th graders are up to in class:

Writing: Finishing, polishing, and organizing writing pieces to submit to LAD Fair!

Reading: We are over half way though our current reading group books.

Spelling/Grammar: We’re playing with vocabulary this week by working with analogies, word patterns, synonyms, and antonyms.

Science: We are starting our final science unit of the year on life.  This week, we are investigating the building blocks of life and the fundamental activities that all living things do.

Social Studies: We are studying French colonies in North America this week.

Math: We will review adding and subtracting all fractions and mixed numbers.  We will also be learning about line plots.
