Hey Summit families!

This summer, incoming middle and high school students are invited to enrich their summer with a series lineup to meet a variety of interests. Sessions are 1, 2, or 3 days in length. Dates and fees vary according to session. Check it out today!

Sr. Camp Raven (Students entering 6th grade and up in the Fall of 2024)
June 4-6 37 North – 37 North is excited to guide students on this life-changing experience in the great outdoors – a true rite of passage. This all-inclusive overnight adventure will be one your student does not want to miss. Students will participate through the entire process – equipment and meal preparation, hiking and navigating the trail, setting up the campsite, and leaving the land better than we found it. Join this immersive adventure, designed specifically for kids to learn through trial and error, with real tools and to solve real problems.
June 12-14 Disc Golf, 10:00am-11:30am Come and spend the afternoon in nature with Dr. Jones.  We will head out and get some exercise while playing disc golf.  We will find out the different discs that can be used and why you might want to use different discs for different throws. You are welcome to bring your own discs. We will meet at The Summit on Day one and then on days 2 and 3 we will meet at local Springfield Parks courses and have some fun.
June 24-26 Knitting, 8:30-11:30am: This class will teach beginning knitting techniques including casting on, knitting, purling, and casting off!  Should time allow, we’ll explore additional stitches and put them together to create a unique item!  Needles, yarn, and notions will be provided.
July 9 Tie Dye, 12-3 pm: Wear some stainable clothes and bring white shirts, towels, socks, etc! Join Mrs. Bradley for a tie-dying workshop as we experiment to make the perfect tie dye masterpiece from start to finish.

Specific games will be chosen by the students and may include: Forbidden Island (or Desert), Burgle Bros, Hoopla, Pandemic, and Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective.
July 12 Slime Camp, 12-3 pm: Calling all slime lovers! We are going to experiment with different ingredients, processes, colors, scents, and textures on a quest to discover the absolute BEST slime recipe out there.

Join us for a week of innovation and creativity!
July 24-25 Forensic Science, 12-3pm: Students will have the chance to see science through the eyes of a crime scene investigator. Eyewitnesses, fingerprinting, physical evidence, DNA, and more will be discussed and analyzed to determine what proof they provide in determining guilt of a crime.
