Beautiful Day for a Walk in Dogwood Canyon!

The fourth and fifth graders got to visit Dogwood Canyon and thoroughly enjoy this beautiful fall day.  We got a tour of the valley and learned about the wildlife.  The students learned about the trees – sycamores, sassafras, and dogwood (of course).  We also learned about animals – the fish, birds, and minks that call this area home.  We observed some fantastic waterfalls and rock formations, hearing the story of how Tablerock Lake got it’s name. And the fall foliage was gorgeous! The students were awesome listeners and asked some fantastic questions.  It was a wonderful experience!
