Early Learners Blue Medical Conference!

This morning was our celebration of all we have learned during our unit about the human body! We invited our Early Learners parents to share in our learning by helping their student answer a medical question of the student’s choosing and then present in front of the class. A BIG thank you to our wonderful families for supporting our students in their learning and supporting them during their presentations! Public speaking can be very daunting to the students (I know it still is for me as an adult, haha). We present rather frequently during class but that is only in front of our peers which they are very familiar with. I think by presenting with their parent next to them it helps to ease students into the skill of speaking in front of a group of people and it gives the parent an opportunity to model how public speaking may not be so scary after all!

I was SO pleased with the presentations today and how well prepared the students and parents were! I am proud of the students’ for doing something difficult that may have felt uncomfortable to them and coming out the other side! This was also a great lesson in patience and being respectful when others are presenting which is a very important skill for the students to acquire as well. Here are some great photos I was able to capture today! Again, thank you so much to our fantastic families who made this medical conference possible by learning and presenting with your child!

We also celebrated a very special birthday boy this week! Happy 5th birthday to Warren!
