SPRING everything!!

The first day of SPRING was this Tuesday as we started back to school! In the Early Learners Blue room we celebrated by using our water color paints to paint a picture of a flower with a short poem about saying goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring!

The students returned to school to a few new Spring inspired learning centers! This particular class has really enjoyed doing a different “write the room” center for our various themes. This gives them great practice with writing, gets them up and moving around the room, and also gives them an opportunity to recognize letters that they know although the word itself may be unfamiliar to them without the picture to use as a clue.

On Wednesday we started one of my favorite art projects to do with students: tulip fork painting! The students used their fingers and forks to paint a beautiful Spring landscape! The students enjoyed the process, and their artwork is beautiful!

As we start our new unit on Our Backyard we learned about plants this week! We learned about the different parts of plants and what plants need in order to grow.

Lastly, our beloved sensory bin got an update to all things SPRING!! The students really enjoy their time playing with the sensory bin so I was excited to update it with all kinds of different Spring colors and a variety of textures and materials. I love listening to the pretend play that happens over in sensory! These students are so creative!
