Plants, caterpillars, and egg hunts!

Yesterday we had ReMi’s dad come visit us and help us plant our beans! The students have been learning about the life cycle of plants, what plants need in order to grow, and the parts of a plant. The students thoroughly enjoyed the process of planting their beans and are eagerly awaiting a little sprout!

Today we had an egg-citing egg hunt! The students were challenged to go find an egg and bring it back to the carpet and open it up. Each egg had a number from 10-20 written on it. The students had to first identify their number and then walk around the room and find a classmate that had the same number inside their egg! The students really enjoy learning activities like this that involve movement and a challenge of finding a partner! Once they found their partner with a matching number the students had to stand with their partner and present to the class which number they found!

Lastly, part of the excitement of this week was that we received our caterpillars in the mail! We are VERY excited to watch them grown and learn all about the life cycle of a butterfly in the process!
