High School Mathematics

Geometry – We hit the ground running this semester! Geometry students worked with the angles and sides of triangles to build understanding of trigonometric functions. These functions allow us to find unknown measurements in right triangles.

Data Science – Data science began the year exploring the idea of skin color representation in magazines. Using the NIS Skin Color Scale, students gathered raw data about which skin tones are present in a variety of magazines including National Geographic Explorations, British Chess Magazine, Edge, and Triathelete. This data has been input into a two-way table in order to begin an analysis.
