Getting Curious About Our Community

To continue on our dive into understanding and applying logos, students have chosen a local issue they are interested in to collect research on, create a presentation about it, and deliver that information – in an unbiased way – to their peers. We welcomed guest speakers from Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Leadership Springfield, and the Chamber of Commerce to further engage with local issues and the organizations and businesses that work to relieve affected populations.

ELA-PoliSci Guest Speakers

To engage with your student, you could ask them:

  • what issue they researched;
  • what issues their peers researched;
  • what they learned from our guest speakers; and/or
  • if they intend to enter any of their work from last semester – or different work – into LAD Fair.
