Social Studies Update

We had seven high school students choose to compete in History Bowl at Morrisville last Thursday. The Summit gets placed in the Large School division, and this team did a great job competing with some of the largest schools in our area. I’m so grateful for their hard work and dedication to learning more about the past. They went above and beyond!

In Counterfactual History, students are beginning to share, via presentation, about a historical event and a moment where things might have gone differently. So far we’ve discussed the questions of what if Germany had beat the US to the atomic bomb, if JFK hadn’t been assassinated, and if David hadn’t beaten Goliath. More discussions to come today!

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area. Our preparatory school setting offers an enriching early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum in a supportive environment. We have state of the art facilities, highly-qualified teachers and staff, and a large range of educational programming. Interested in enrolling your child? Learn more about our admissions process.
