Last week, high school Spanish students finished their Class Schedule Project—a three-paragraph essay written entirely in Spanish. 📝 This was one of our first major writing assignments where students had to pull together everything we’ve covered this year. The assignment required them to choose three different classes and write a paragraph about each one. For every class, they had to include the class name, what time it starts, their teacher’s name, three adjectives to describe that teacher, two things they have to do in the class, and one thing they like to do there. At the end, they also had to identify which class was their favorite.
Throughout the year, we’ve built up the vocabulary and grammar needed for this kind of writing—verb conjugations, adjective agreement, telling time, transition words, and much more. This project required students to apply all of these skills at once to describe their actual schedules and the teachers they see every day.
The essays demonstrate real progress. Students are writing in complete paragraphs, using varied sentence structures, and communicating ideas that matter to them. This is a solid foundation to build on as we move forward with more complex writing assignments.
¡Buen trabajo, estudiantes! ⭐
