Social Studies Update

Students in high school have continued their study of campaigns and elections this week. We’ve spent time discussing the importance of “swing” or “purple” states and the role of the electoral college in Presidential elections. We’ve also spent a good amount of time discussing current events this week, as a few significant moments occurred. Students continue to work on their campaign projects, demonstrating strong critical thinking and teamwork skills.

Five students in high school competed at National History Day at MSU today as part of their fall elective in which they studied 20th century history. We had one student create a website, one who designed an exhibit, and three who chose to write essays. I’m grateful for their diligence in research and completing their projects! Well done, team!
