An update about Calculus class

Calculus class just finished up working on derivatives before spring break.
What are derivatives?
A derivative represents the instantaneous rate of change or the slope of a function’s tangent line at a given point.  Derivatives are used in physics to determine velocity (rate of change of position) and in economics for marginal analysis.
Calculus class will finish up the school year working on integrals, a branch of math focused on integration which calculates accumulation of quantities such as area under a curve.  Other uses are volume in physics and engineering and displacement in acceleration.
