High School Math Update – Final Stretch

Algebra 1

Our last Algebra 1 topic of rationalization has come and gone. Due to having a mixed class of 8th graders and freshman, we are now pivoting to working towards the final. Students have been given the option of a 2nd semester final with no notecard cheat sheet or taking a full course final with a note card cheat sheet. Either way this mimics classes they are likely to take in the future, specifically college courses. Grades have been fully updated so if your student isn’t happy with their grade, they can look on classroom to find and complete assignements from the past.

Algebra 2

We are about to wrap up our intro to trig section. So far we’ve covered the Unit Circle and Law of Sines / Cosines. We’ll likely stop there but they should feel ready for trig when the time comes. We will be gearing up for our final soon. Special shoutout to our students that competed in Pummill Math Relays on the 15th! We’re awaiting results but they’ve said they were confident in their skills.

Calculus

This small class has been steadily working through integration and calculating areas under curves that have been measured throughout Summit. Their final will consist of topics from this semester only.
