Exploring Typing Skills

The kindergarten students have recently started using our classroom computers. They are very excited to learn how to type and use the computers during literacy time. Today, they had the opportunity to explore the keyboard, starting with the letters. Gradually, they will become familiar with the layout of the keys and the positioning of the letters and numbers. This exploration of the keyboard will help them develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Through practice and repetition, they will strengthen their letter recognition skills, and begin to understand the connection between sounds and symbols. This is an essential step in their journey towards becoming proficient readers and writers. As we all know, computer skills are crucial in today’s world. This new station will help them become more comfortable with computers and keyboards, which will prepare them for first grade and beyond!
