Six Week Session Classes for Session 4 (April 2-May 10)
Classes are $60 per session each. No reductions will be made for late entrants. Summit families will be billed via their FACTS account. Non-Summit participants may pay at the front desk, with payment due prior to the first class.
Monday Classes
As we will be out of school on May 30th, Monday classes will be held April 2-May 14.
Passport: China! with Iris Zhai
3:30-4:15, 1st-5th Grades
Get to know Iris Zhai, one of the exchange students attending the Summit, as she teaches a sampling of Chinese language and culture via stories, pictures, songs and games.
Running Club with Sara Gutzke
3:30-4:15, 2nd-5th Grades
Join Mrs. Cowart for Running Club! It is a fun, active class where we learn and work on proper running form through activities such as tag, ketchup and mustard runs, touch 10, capture the flag, and other fast-paced, super-exciting games. Shoes comfortable for running are required. As Amanda Cowart will be on maternity leave, availability for this class is dependent on locating a parent volunteer to accompany Sara. Results will be posted & participants emailed.
Tuesday Classes
Volleyball Club with Sarah Leighninger
3:45-5:00, 3rd-8th Grade Girls
Join Sarah Leighninger for Volleyball. Students will participate in drills and games to improve their skills. Students will leave Summit Campus at 3:45 as this class will be held at Springfield Lutheran’s Gym. Students will need to be picked up there. There will be a small additional fee of $15 to offset Gym Rental (for a total of $75 for the class). A minimum of 6 students are needed to participate in order to offer the class.
Art Club with Jennifer Johnson
3:30-4:15, K-5th Grades
Create different art projects with Jennifer Johnson. This term we’ll tackle projects such as trophies, paintings, weaving projects, and collages.
Running Club with Sara Gutzke

Wednesday Classes
Lego Robotics with Nate Lathrop
3:45-4:30, 1st-5th Grades
Build science, engineering, and technology skills by creating you own Lego robots! Although younger students may participate in the class, students must be over 9 years old to compete in FIRST sanctions events.
Spanish Fiesta for Adult Learners with Sarah Leighninger
3:45-4:30, Parents and Other Adults
Don’t miss out on The Summit’s first adult Spanish class! This six week session is designed for any adults who want to expand their horizons and explore a new language. We will begin building a basic Spanish vocabulary and developing conversational skills. Additionally, this will be an excellent opportunity to catch a glimpse at what your students are learning on a daily basis in class and be able to practice your skills together as a family at home.
Jazz Dance Team with Tiffany Duncan
3:30-4:15, KIndergarten through 3rd grades
The Junior Jazzercise team dance program is a great way for your child to get moving, have fun and stay fit. Children will learn easy to follow dance steps and fun fitness games all set to the rhythms of popular music. Yoga with Rachal Tarrasch
3:30-4:15 1st-5th Grades
Join 2nd Grade teacher Rachal Tarrasch as we strengthen our bodies and calm our minds through Yoga poses and practices.
Zumba Fitness Party with April Krenn
3:30-4:15, 2nd Grade and Up (parents of participating students may also sign up)
A Zumba Fitness Party is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements. It combines fast and slow rhythms using an aerobic approach to achieve a balanced blend of cardio and muscle-toning benefits! The Zumba program is designed for everyone and no dance experience is needed! The instruction is mostly all non-verbal and is “monkey see, monkey do! It is a Blast! It is Different! It is easy and effective! .

Private Music Lessons (ongoing)
Private Music Lessons at the Summit are $20 per half-hour lesson and will be billed in six-week sessions ($120 per session). Please note the change in payment and policy for this year: Full details can be found here. Students already enrolled in lessons will not need to re-enroll.
Piano Lessons
We are proud to announce that Adrianna Reynolds and Sarah Davis will be returning to teach piano at the Summit. Evangel University adjunct professor Susan Sheets has also recently joined us. Openings are limited. Please sign up to be contacted about available times.
Guitar & Bass Lessons
We are also excited to welcome Darcy Stevens who will be offering private guitar or bass lessons as well as teaching our first Class Guitar lessons (found in the Long-Term Music Class section below).
