We Love Reading!

Did you know that from November 17 to December 7, our class read a total of 14,330 pages?!

We loved celebrating our reading successes with today’s “Read All Day” day. In the morning, we spent an hour reading independently, sprawled out on our yoga mats with our pillows and blankets. In the afternoon, we created forts under the tables and enjoyed reading independently and listening to texts read aloud. Students enjoyed listening and reading on Epic*, listening to podcasts from Kids Listen Podcast Collection, and listening to audio books alone or with a friend. Thank you for all your support at home to help your child grow as a reader. Be sure to ask your child how much he/she was able to read today. Many students finished books, discovered new ones, and all of us thought the day went by way too quickly! We are already thinking about the next all-day celebration!

*A note on Epic Reading: Fourth graders love reading on Epic, which has a large collection of independent reading books, “Read to Me” books, and audio books. I want to share a special offer on an at-home subscription. Epic Unlimited gives them anytime access to all the best books, and for a limited time you can save 43% with this link: Get Epic! I encourage you to check it out to extend your child’s reading opportunities while at home!
