Geography Challenge

During Morning Meeting, students enjoyed a social studies activity to name as many cities, states, countries, and continents as they could in two minutes. Then, they worked with peers, using wall maps and an atlas, to find at least one country for every letter of the alphabet. They found the letter Q tricky, and since there is not a country that starts with the letter X, they needed to find a country with X in its name. Fourth graders loved working together and finding countries they have never heard of, along with islands, regions, and cities.
