Fourth graders are having interesting discussions about the contributions of Black musicians in American music.  Through our Friday Mystery Rhythms (which will be on Wednesday this week), they have already been exposed to the music of Stevie Wonder and Louis Armstrong.  I wonder who they will learn about tomorrow?!

They have also been exploring the logical process of working through the Circle of Fifths in order to understand musical keys.  Hopefully, they have all committed the order of sharps to memory through the silly, but memorable pneumonic device, “Fat Cat George Died After Eating Broccoli.”
