Fourth Grade Weekly Update (1/20–1/23)

Math:
This week we dug into fractions. Students practiced finding equivalent fractions, switching between improper fractions and mixed numbers, and comparing fractions to see which is larger. Their hard work is really paying off!

Grammar:
In grammar, we focused on adjectives. Students explored how adjectives make sentences more interesting by giving extra details. We practiced spotting adjectives in sentences and using them in our own writing.

Writing:
This week, students completed the rough drafts of their opinion essays. Next week, we’ll start editing and revising to make our writing even stronger, focusing on clarity, word choice, and sentence flow.

Science:
In science, students continued working on their Fourth Grade Market projects. They’re learning about marketing while creating, testing, and improving their prototypes, lots of creativity and problem-solving happening!

Reading:
Book clubs are still in full swing! Some groups have finished their books, and others will wrap up next week. Students are also starting their final book club projects to show what they’ve learned from their reading and discussions.

Snapshots from the Week:
And of course, we couldn’t forget the photos! Here are some pictures from this week, including a snapshot from our field trip last week. It’s always so fun to see students engaged, collaborating, and enjoying new experiences. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and stays safe in the snow! ❄️
