Since returning from Winter break, we have focused on telling time in Spanish in our high school class. After a quick review of number vocabulary, students practiced reading both digital and analog clocks through class discussions and interactive games. One activity, a scavenger hunt called “Corre en Círculos,” had students move around the room reading and writing times at different stations. We used natural phrasing — for example, Es la una, Son las tres y cuarto, and Son las nueve menos cinco — and briefly reviewed the conjugations of ser used for telling time alongside some key time‑related vocabulary and expressions. The unit strengthened number fluency and student confidence using time in everyday contexts.
Hasta pronto – or until next time! ⏰✨
