Kindergarten students have become entomologists over the past month as we took a deep dive into insect study. Students have learned the stages of the insect life cycle: egg, larva, pupa, adult. They can also identify insect body parts including: antennae, head, thorax, abdomen. Students applied their insect knowledge from our class butterflies to the study of other insects including: ladybugs, dragonflies, beetles, and stick insects. Each student was tasked with the challenge to design a new species of insect!
