Projects in US Language Arts

All US Language Arts students embarked on their first long term project of the year this week.  For 6th grade, they are using the classic short story “The Lady or the Tiger” to craft their own ending to this tale of suspense.  These kiddos are so creative and thoughtful that I can’t wait to see how they choose to end the story.  The final product will be due on Sept. 8th after the holiday weekend.

Both 7th and 8th as well as High School students will use their own experiences to share their wisdom with the world as they craft personal narratives.  They can write about any experience they’ve had where they have learned a valuable lesson they feel the rest of the world should know. I’ve already seen some very interesting ideas in their pre-writing and am looking forward to guiding them toward a finished product of which they can be proud.  These will be due on the 8th of Sept. for 7th and 8th and the 9th of September for High School.

We will be using a writer’s workshop model as all the US classes draft, revise, and finalize their respective projects. All information is uploaded to Google Classroom and students are always encouraged to see me with any questions or issues they may be having.  I’m here to help!
