Math Matters

6th Grade

Sixth graders are nearing the end of their first unit. Our last set of objectives centers around three-dimensional objects and surface area.  Next week we will review and test. Then students will work on a short project applying their knowledge of area to floor plans and materials usage.

Integrated Math

The halfway point has come and gone for our unit on rigid transformations and congruence.  Our current work focuses on congruence, utilizing what we have learned about the properties of transformations. Explorations in Desmos have brought rotations, reflections, and translations to life.

Algebra I

Algebra students continue their analysis of data and statistics. Using measures of center and variability, data can be compared and summarized. Technology (such as Google Sheets or Geogebra) allows students to complete calculations easily and focus on critical analysis and evaluation of statistics.
