Happy Constitution Day!

On this day in 1787, the US Constitution was signed at the Constitutional Convention. High School students are celebrating by continuing their reading and understanding of Article II (and maybe also by sharing some monkey bread, chocolate milk, and donut holes).

High school students take time each week to discuss current events and relate them back to political science. They also discussed their first research and argumentative essay project yesterday, and each student selected an issue in 21st century American politics. This project is slated to be completed by the end of the semester, and we will break the research and writing process into chunks in an effort to increase understanding of their topics.

Middle School:

Students in middle school history took a quiz on Wednesday, during which they showed their tenacity and study skills. As part of this practice, students are also self-assessing and taking notes on how they might grow for their next assessment.

This group is moving forward to Europe during the middle ages in a continued effort to lay groundwork for our course this semester. They are brave, curious, deep thinkers, and I very much enjoy our time together each day!
