Middle School Math and Digital Citizenship

Algebra I

The airplanes flew their maiden journeys and data was collected. This week students calculate their statistics and write their analysis. Then we will begin our next unit on equations, inequalities, and systems.

Integrated Math

This week we finished up our tessellation project.  It might be said that this artistic endeavor was more challenging than many students expected. The results are awesome!  We will get started on our next unit centered around scale copies and scale drawings.  Students will use their learning to create a scale drawing of their ideal math learning space.

6th Grade Math

Sixth graders are making great progress in understanding how ratios allow us to maintain quality while changing quantity. Ask them how they might be able to use ratios around the house.

Digital Citizenship

Last week 6th graders engaged in a lively discussion about phishing. They were great sleuths as they looked for clues in “phishy” digital situations. This week we will focus on finding credible news in a hoax and satire filled digital landscape.

Just a few of the wonderful tessellations created by Integrated Math students.
