Google Classroom for Math

This time of year, absences are more common. If a student misses math class, but is well enough to work from home, Google Classroom is the place to be!  It is also a great starting point for the “How’s school going?” conversation. Keep reading for an overview of how Classroom is used for 6th Grade Math, Integrated Math, and Algebra I.

Stream

In the “Stream” tab, students can find announcements and view materials in the order posted (newest at the top of the list). There will be frequent announcements (weekly to daily) with a quick overview of our progress.

Classwork

The “Classwork” tab is organized into three main topics.

  • Notes and Resources
  • Lessons and Learning Activities
  • Assessments of Learning

In each topic, our current unit will be featured. Materials will generally be sorted with the newest at the top of the list.

Past units will be organized into their own section.

Grading Information

Each student can find their “Math Progress” spreadsheet pinned at the top of the “Classwork” list. The link will direct students to their individual progress tracker. Students can click “View your work” in the “Classwork” tab to make sure their “Math Progress” spreadsheet is accurate and up-to-date.
