8th Grade and High School Spanish Update

It´s already March and upper school Spanish learners are all about Los Verbos (verbs)!

In 8th Grade, students are focusing on conjugating verbs in the present tense through the thematic unit of La Rutina Diaria (Daily Routine). As they learn how to say what day, how often, and at what time they usually do things, they practice changing verb endings and telling time. Activities are focused on speaking in the target language, and some student volunteers even had the chance to give a short lesson about verb conjugations to their peers! It´s amazing to see how engaged they become when a classmate is giving the lesson!

In High School, per student request, the class is focusing on speaking Spanish in the past tense. Learners are accomplishing this through the thematic unit of La Comida (food)! Some activities have included creating their own restaurant, surveying their classmates about favorite foods and mealtimes, and writing a silly short story in Spanish about a disastrous day in the kitchen.

Both classes continue to work on their third culture project of the school year. Students are focusing on bringing their own personal passions into the project! I look forward to seeing the final results!
