LAD Fair in Full Swing!

The time has come! LAD Fair submissions are to be turned in this Friday! Students have been working diligently across all middle school to craft unique language entries to show off this weekend at LAD Fair. We’ve been able to touch on their projects here and there as we worked on other units, but now they are giving their full attention to this once a year language event! With over 70 categories to choose from, they can let their imaginations run wild as they craft all kinds of poetry, prose, art, and more! Students had a soft due date of this past Monday with a hard due date of this Thursday to make sure we have plenty of time to make sure their submissions meet all required guidelines to be judged.  I, personally, can’t wait to see what they do!

High School continues work on “Passing” as they dive deeper into the lives of Clare and Irene and navigate the deep divides that both bring them together and drive them apart. Class discussions have been in depth and have provided new insight and perspectives to students as they work through the complex themes present in the text. We have an eye on finishing this novel study next week in order to give us a solid amount of time for their next unit.
