Proyectos de Cultura

Over the past few days, students in 3rd-8th grade have been presenting their culture projects. In lower school, each grade focuses on one Spanish-speaking country per trimester. During the 2nd trimester, the cultural focus was on the country of Puerto Rico. In third grade, students worked in pairs to research and create a Google Presentation about the food, art, history, geography, animals, holidays, etc. Fourth and fifth graders were able to select from a variety of different project options to present their findings. Projects included making a poster, collage, recipe book, travel video, or travel brochure. Students then presented the final product to the entire class. Upper school students are also able to select from a variety of different options and are also able to select the Spanish-speaking country of their choice. Presentations for this round included musical and dance performances, authentic food sampling, craft demonstrations, board games, and children’s short stories all related to hispanic culture.
