High School Mathematics

Geometry – Students have been challenged to create perpendicular and parallel lines, angle bisectors, and polygons using only a straightedge and compass. Since we’ve measured with rulers and protractors for years, students have had to retrain themselves to use the properties of circles and lines to create figures with precision and reproducibility. 

Data Science – Students in Data Science have begun their first foray into using technology to sort data. After some trial and error all students were able to categorize items into columns. Next week they will begin to work with data in Python.
