Algebra 2

Algebra 2 students have now entered the imaginary numbers realm as they learned about how to represent the square root of negative one as i. Using this newfound knowledge, students graphed complex numbers and began to do operations with them. Students were able to see connections from previous learning as graphing and operations with complex numbers continue to use patterns and rules that students already had in their problem solving tool-kits.

Applied Math

This week in Applied Math, the focus was on checking and linear equations, with the understanding that linear equations can only represent very basic relationships, which occur rarely in the real world. Generally there are many other factors to consider outside of rate of change and initial amounts.
