High School Mathematics

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 students have completed a study of exponential equations and logarithms. They are now able to solve for an unknown exponent in an equation, by applying logarithms, rather than estimating by reading a graph. They also learned about log properties to expand or condense logarithms to make them easier to solve. An assessment over this material will be completed next week.

Applied Math

Applied Math has been focusing on exponential equations and data displays in the context of investing and credit. Understanding how to calculate interest using compounding formulas has many practical applications for financial literacy, and box plots and histograms are two common ways that data is pictured.
