Updates from the Art Room

Over the past month Upper School students created their Art to Remember pieces and American Sign Language Initials.

7th and 8th graders learned a little bit about American Sign Language and got practice drawing hands (sometimes a difficult feat!) using their initials or a nickname. They then created abstracted vibrant backgrounds with cut paper.

Students were given a literal carte blanche to create an “Art to Remember” piece they might like to have on a physical item!

Art to Remember is a creative fundraiser that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with the student’s art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school’s art program. Click on the link below and enter your child’s name to search for your child’s artwork. Then, have fun shopping!
