American History

Middle School students are wrapping up the Revolutionary War, and so they have a big question to answer: What government will these thirteen former colonies choose to adopt? Rather than just telling them, they are processing the issues the colonies had with each other and with the British government. From here, they are crafting what they believe is the best version of government these new United States might adopt. Students worked in teams to document their forms of government, and they came up with some fabulous suggestions! Their abilities to problem solve continue to grow, and they took this challenge with excitement and grace.

We will review the Articles of Confederation (the actual government adopted by the thirteen states) and then the Constitution later this week.
