US Government

Middle school students are studying the US government this week. Sixth grade students took a quiz on Tuesday that assessed their learning about the branches of government, separation of powers, and checks and balances. Seventh grade students are working in groups to collaborate on a presentation teaching their peers about one of the three branches of government. Eighth grade students are also working in groups to research six different areas of the Constitution and to understand the implications of our system of government on the United States. Through these projects, seventh and eighth grade students are also examining cause and effect and change over time. By learning about America’s revolt against King George III and Great Britain, they are able to make connections about why our government was designed so intentionally.
