Action Sculptures in 6th Grade

6th graders started out the semester by studying the artworks of Alberto Giacometti. Giacometti was known for his elongated, stick-thin figure sculptures that often showed emotion or an action. To study this, 6th grade practiced showing actions through quick, gesture drawings. They then translated this idea to 3D form. Using a tin foil base, they implemented paper mache techniques to create their sculptures. Next, they will paint them. Take a look at the 6th graders in creative action!
