Middle School Music Update

We’ve been playing ukulele for a few weeks now and are ready to make our first composition!

Today I showed an example of what I’m expecting and went over the assignment’s requirements (posted below).

Students are more than welcome to write or practice their song at home if they have access to a ukulele.

Students will write and record/perform their Debut Single!

The song should have a ‘verse’ and a ‘chorus’ and include at least 4 of the following:

  • G Major chord
  • F Major chord
  • C Major chord
  • a minor chord
  • a strumming pattern other than a steady beat
  • a single note melody

It should be written as tabs or a chord chart accordingly so that I can read it!

The second part will require one of the following:

  • Record a performance of the song on a phone or other device
  • Live performance of the song

By the end of the project I should have a copy of your Debut Single in written form and have heard it either live or in a recording.
